Stormzy has donated £9000 to a fan’s crowdfunding campaign to fund her University tuition fees.

Fiona Asiedu, who’s currently studying at Oxford University, had been attempting to raise £12,000 to pay for her Masters in Human Development at Harvard University, in America. Fiona raised the amount she needs to attend in less than 24 hours, thanks to Stormzy who donated £9000 to her campaign.

Stormzy’s reps confirmed that he had made the donation under his real name Michael Omari, but has since changed it to anonymous.

The pair meet last year when Stormzy visited Oxford University. Fiona is currently the Vice President of the University’s African and Caribbean society.

Fiona took to Twitter to thank those who had backed her campaign, writing: ‘I am extremely overwhelmed by what has happened in the last 24 hours. I just want to take this time to express my sincere appreciation to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU.’

She continued ‘your incredible support has made my dreams of studying at Harvard a reality’. Fiona will start at Harvard this August.
