Paul Walker tribute song 'See You Again' breaks streaming records

The track appears to heading for a UK number one

Wiz Khalifa’s tribute song to Paul Walker has broken streaming records on Spotify.

‘See You Again’ was recorded for the ‘Fast and Furious 7’ soundtrack as a special tribute to the late actor and features singer-songwriter Charlie Puth.

It has now climbed to number one in Spotify’s global charts, and earned the title of most streams in a single day - 4.2m on 13th April.

It also has the most streams in a single week, gaining 21.9m listens in the week ending 12th April.

The track is currently number one on Spotify in 26 countries, including the UK, US, Australia, Hong Kong, Sweden and Mexico.

‘See You Again’ features predominately at the end of ‘Fast and Furious 7’, with its video depicting Walker’s character Brian in one final race with Vin Diesel’s Dom before driving off into the sunset.

An image appearing to show Paul Walker’s ghost alongside Vin Diesel recently went viral and was shared over 400,000 times.

‘See You Again’ is currently number one in the midweek UK singles chart.
