Mitch Winehouse will shortly begin making his own film about daughter Amy
After the release of Asif Kapadia's sad and raw documentary about Amy Winehouse earlier this year, Amy's father Mitch Winehouse was left furious. Mitch said the documentary “painted him as being an absent father during her last years. It gives the impression the family weren’t there.”
Mitch Winehouse is now planning his own film about his troubled daughter. He told Bang Showbiz that "we hope to start work fairly shortly on it."
About Asif Kapadia's documentary, Amy, Mitch said "all of the people who weren't in the film are hopping mad. They want their voices to be heard. We don't want to be like Asif, we'll let people say what they want, but we don't want it to be negative."
In response to Mitch's comments about his film, Asif Kapadia, who directed the BAFTA-winning documentary Senna, said “we knew that there would be people who would not like certain things.”
