Mariah Carey has released the official date to take down your Christmas tree

The end of Christmas is near and we're going into a brand new year. One question we ask is when to start getting rid of all the decorations and take down tree. The Queen of Christmas, Mariah Carey, has declared that July 4th is the date that your tree, lights and baubles officially go down.
The All I Want For Christmas Is You star, tweeted Ryan Seacrest after he asked when it is "appropriate" to take down the annual tree.
While some of us couldn't be happier to clear away the tinsel, but Carey is no stranger to the festive season so we obviously have to take it as gospel.
So July 4th it is.
