Marcus Rashford shares pic of romantic proposal to school sweetheart

Congratulations are in order to Marcus Rashford and his childhood sweetheart Lucia Loi, as the footballer has announced the couple's engagement. While on a romantic holiday in Hollywood, Marcus popped the question to his girlfriend, surrounded by candles and rose petals, in front of a giant love heart made of flowers.
Taking to Instagram to announce the lovely news, Marcus shared a pic of the couple kissing with the giant flower heart as their backdrop saying: '24.05.22 🤍 @lucialoi'.
The same beautiful pic was shared on Lucia's socials as well, with the couple receiving thousands of messages from celebrities and fans. I'm a Celebrity winner Giovanna Fletcher wrote: '❤️', with a fan writing: 'Congratulations, amazing experience ❤️', and another saying: 'Congratulations to the both of you ❤️'.
Marcus and Lucia first started going out when they were just 15-years-old, and despite have a short break last year, Lucia has been there to support Marcus throughout his football career.
The footballer became known outside of sport when he championed the free meals for vulnerable youngsters in England, throughout the school holidays during the Coronavirus pandemic, forcing Prime Minister Boris Johnson into a U-turn.
This lead Marcus to be awarded an MBE in 2021 from Prince William at Windsor Castle. At the ceremony, he said he would be giving his MBE to his mum Melanie, who raised him and his four brothers and sisters.
