MAFS Australia couple Martha and Michael expecting first child
They appeared on series six in 2019
Although the experiment doesn't work out for everybody, it's safe to say there's been a lot of success stories from reality TV show Married At First Sight, from both the UK and Australian versions.
As well as MAFS UK couple Tayah Victoria and Adam Aveling expecting their first child, and MAFS Australia couple Jules Robinson and Cameron Merchant being proud parents, engaged couple Martha Kalifatidis and Michael Brunelli have now announced their own happy news.
The couple, who appeared on series six of the show back in 2019, have announced they are expecting their first child together, sharing their news in a social media video.
After Martha has been absent from social media since mid-July, the pair recorded a video of themselves explaining her absence, revealing she's been suffering from an extreme case of Hyperemesis Gravidarum, a condition which causes persistent severe vomiting during pregnancy.
Michael said: "We wanted to explain our situation and make a little bit of an announcement. Martha is pregnant."
Martha added: "It hasn’t been this exciting, wonderful time for us. I don’t want to sound like I’m complaining. We are so excited, we are so happy, it was a compete surprise. But at five weeks I was diagnosed with Hyperemesis Gravidarum.
"Which is severe chronic nausea and vomiting with no relief. It is 24-7. I literally didn’t get out of bed for two months.
"I was so sick. I could not eat or drink anything. There were days I didn’t even get up to pee. I lost 10 kilos in five weeks. We have been in and out of the emergency room and hospital."
The couple's friends and followers were quick to comment on the post, with many expressing their love for the news.
