Love Island 2018 star Laura Crane was rushed to hospital earlier this week, where she was later diagnosed with the life-threatening infection Sepsis.

Laura, who has now split with her Love Island boyfriend Jack Fowler, was taken to hospital on Tuesday, with a newspaper reporting that she was diagnosed with Sepsis on Tuesday.

A representative told the publication, "It’s taking time to control her temperature and rid her blood of the infection, but it had spread quite rapidly. A scary time for her and her family but we’re praying she makes a full recovery in the next couple of days."

Despite the scare, it sounds like Laura, who is also a pro surfer, is making a recovery, with the reality star keeping fans up to date on her Instagram Story page.

Earlier today (Friday 2nd November), Laura posted a short video to her Instagram, revealing she hopes to go home. She wrote, 'No more hospital I BEG... pray that I go home today'. sic

Laura later shared a selfie in her hospital bed, thanking fans for their kind messages. As she gave a thumbs up to the camera, Laura wrote, 'Thanks for all your get well messages... Health is wealth people....' sic

Although it looks like Laura caught her infection in time, Sepsis can be very life-threatening for some.

According to the NHS, 'Sepsis is a serious complication of an infection. Without quick treatment, sepsis can lead to multiple organ failure and death.'

Due to severity of Sepsis, NHS watchdog Nice have published new guidelines in the last two years, which tell doctors to treat the infection with the same urgency as they would for a heart attack.

We wish Laura a speedy recovery! ❤️
