This is exciting!

He’s been teasing fans with studio selfies in recent months but now One Direction singer Liam Payne has reportedly registered a new song.

A screenshot of the registration with BMI (the international music rights organisation) shows the 23-year-old has been working with songwriters including Grammy nominated Emily Warren, Scott Harris and Nick Monson.

Reports are also suggesting the name of his debut solo track will be ‘Myself’.

Back in July Liam sent his fans into meltdown when he announced he had signed a solo deal with Capitol Records UK.

Taking to Instagram to announce the news, Liam wrote, ‘'I’m really happy to have signed to such a prestigious label as Capitol Records UK. Capitol Records has an amazing history stretching right back before even Frank Sinatra and I'm really looking forward to becoming part of their story. One Direction will always be my family; I'm now excited to show what I can do as a solo artist."

Just last week, Liam’s fellow Capitol Records artist Calum Scott revealed he heard a few of Liam’s songs during a recording session. He told a magazine, “I was in the studio with Liam the other day. I heard a few of his songs. They are sounding amazing. I'd love to do something with him."

Ooo we can’t wait to hear it!

Liam will be hoping to mirror the success of his former bandmate Zayn Malik. Since leaving the band in March 2015, Zayn has released his debut album ‘Mind Of Mine’ and achieved massive success with his singles ‘Pillowtalk’, ‘Like I Can’ and ‘Cruel’ Ft Snakehips.

Meanwhile Liam is gearing up to spend Christmas with his girlfriend Cheryl before he gets back in the studio to finish his album.

Just yesterday the pair showed fans they were feeling the Christmas spirit when they shared festive memes of each other on Instagram.

We can only wonder what presents they buy each other!
