According to the 23-year-old, his ex almost didn't make the cut, revealing that her spot in the line-up was a last minute decision, as the producers changed their minds. And thank GOD they did!
Speaking to presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, the reality TV star said, "Amber wasn’t meant to go in and they changed it at the last minute. They will decide as you’re out there who fits it at the time."
He also revealed that casting changes are made frequently by the producers, with some contestants flying out to Mallorca but never even entering the villa. Changing the topic to his co-star and BFFL Chris Hughes, Kem explained that he didn't find out that he was entering the villa until the DAY BEFORE.

Chris, who is dating Little Mix star Jesy Nelson, saw one episode of the show before flying out to Spain, having no idea if he would make the cut or not.
