Harry Styles' solo material is set to 'blow the socks off the world' according to Snow Patrol's Johnny McDaid.

According to Johnny, he has been writing music with the One Direction man 'for years' and recently the pair have enjoyed lots of song writing sessions.

In a recent interview he said "I've been friends with Harry for a long time and we've written a lot together.

"Harry is a really prolific artist and a super talented guy. He's really authentic and he has an incredible voice, so we've been writing a lot of songs. We've been writing songs for years together."

The Snow Patrol man then went on to add "I'm really excited by the way he's sounding at the minute, he's such a talent. I think the world is going to be really shocked at what he comes up with."

Fans across the world have been eagerly awaiting news of solo material from Harry after One Direction announced their hiatus.

Now it seems it could finally be happening! When asked when fans could expect the new music, the Snow Patrol guitarist said "I don't know, I don't know how long that is. But I would imagine Harry would come up with something that's going to be pretty special and from what I've heard it's going to blow the socks off the world".

Mr Styles is currently busy filming for his debut film, Dunkirk, with his new hair!

The 22-year-old is set to portray the role of a young man who gets caught up in an evacuation as the Allied Forces fight the Nazi's alongside a star studded cast including Tom Hardy and Mark Rylance.

Filming started this week with the film expected to arrive next year.
