It all started this weekend at The BET Awards.
Beyonce’s fans aren’t happy with the singer and her mum Tina Knowles. It all started at The BET (Black Entertainment Television) Awards in L.A this weekend.
Beyonce opened the awards ceremony with a surprise performance of ‘Freedom’ with Kendrick Lamar. However Bey didn’t hang around, leaving mum Tina to collect her four gongs on the night. While accepting Bey’s award for Video of the Year, Tina said “On behalf of my beautiful daughter, who is on a plane. She had to run straight from the stage and get on the plane and fly to London for a concert. Hopefully she’ll make it in time. But that’s how important this awards show was for her to show up.”
Fans were were quick to highlight that Beyonce didn’t have a gig in the UK until 2 days later on the 28th June and it was actually in Sunderland not London.
Now Tina’s taken to Instagram to try and explain, she posted a pic with a lengthily caption ‘Hello guys first let me say. I just got a wind of the mess that has festered since last night ! The fact that I supposedly lied about my Daughters concert. First of all I did make a mistake on the city and the day... I assumed the date was Monday and the city was London well it turned out to be in the UK but wrong city and on Tuesday. I want to point out that there is a nine hour time difference and it is an eleven to 12 hour Flight that equates to 19 - 20 hrs to get there!’ Tina went on to add that Bey had personally spent her own money on making the BET awards performance happen ‘to give her fans that did not get to attend the concert a piece of her show.’
