Ed Sheeran will take a nine-month career break

The singer-songwrite says he'll be taking a nine-month hiatus from his career in December

After a non-stop few years, Ed Sheeran has announced that he's going to be taking a break from his career, as well as all of his social media.

Despite having over 34 million followers on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram collectively, Ed told The Sun newspaper, “I think a break for me is coming off my phone, social media and emails. I am constantly on my phone, texting, replying to emails, on Twitter, on Snapchat, on Facebook."

Currently in the middle of his x album tour, which sees him fly out to Australia and New Zealand for six shows over the next two months, Ed said, "I just want to live and drive to places and listen to music and have normal conversations with people and get back to normality. I’ve got a packed schedule, then, when December comes when his tour ends, it’s done.”

Ed's film Jumpers For Goalposts, in which his meteoric rise to fame is documented, premiered In London's Leicester Square last night. Other celebs to join Ed on the green carpet for the premiere included Justin Bieber, Big Narstie, Olly Murs and Game Of Thrones' Maisie Williams.
