Ed Sheeran has managed to go two years without a phone and dropped off the grid. The 26-year-old singer shared a post on Instagram on December 13, 2015, saying he was taking a year-long break from the spotlight. He mentioned that he found himself "seeing the world through a screen" and taking this opportunity to travel the world.

Ed returned to his Instagram account exactly one year later to share an image of a shade of blue, with no caption.

His next post came in January 2017 when he announced the release of 'Castle On The Hill' & 'Shape Of You'.

Though returning to Instagram, the star still doesn't have a phone but does have a new perspective on life. To mark a commendable two years since he started his digital detox, Ed posted to his 17.4m Instagram followers on Wednesday 13 December 2017 to re-post the message he shared back in 2015.

Earlier this year, he revealed his decision has helped him lower his stress levels.

He said: ''I bought an iPad, and then I just work off of email, and it's so much less stress. I don't wake up in the morning and have to answer 50 messages of people asking for stuff. It's just like, I wake up and have a cup of tea.'

Good for you Ed!
