Chatting to I-D Magazine for her first magazine interview in three years, Adele claims that motherhood is "f** hard but it's phenomenal."

She says that she thought: "'Everyone does it, how hard can it be?' Ohhhhh... I had no idea."

Regardless of her Oscar, Golden Globe, four BRIT Awards and ten Grammy Awards, to name just a few accolades, the singer says that being a mother is "the greatest thing I ever did."

The 27 year-old also spoke about how her new album, 25, is about reflecting on being younger. She says: "It's about missing things that you had no idea were so precious, like being 18-years-old and drinking two litre bottles of cider with your mates." But Adele does insist that she has moved on from her past – "I can really hold a grudge. Life is so much easier when you don't hoard your past."

As for 25 being different to the award-winning 21, according to her letter posted on Twitter, 25 is a "make up record. I'm making up with myself". On the same subject to I-D Magaine, Adele said: "How I felt when I wrote 21, it ain't worth feeling like that again. I was very sad and very lonely."

The first single from 25, Hello (see the video below), is now available to buy and 25 is rumoured to be released on Friday 25 November.
