The daughter of Captain Sir Tom Moore has lost an appeal against Central Bedfordshire Council's demolition order of an unauthorised home spa in the grounds of the home in Marston Moretaine in Bedfordshire.

Hannah Ingram-Moore and her husband had used the Captain Tom Foundation on the first plans, which were then revised and turned down by councillors.

Currently, the organisation is being investigated by the Charity Commission.

It was founded in June 2020, after Captain Sir Tom did laps round his Bedfordshire garden.

His fundraising efforts led to him being knighted by the late Queen in 2020.

The Planning Inspectorate has dismissed the families appeal after Central Bedfordshire Council's notice in July.

The inspector's decision said: "I accept that the appellant's intentions are laudable; however, it has not been demonstrated in any detail how all of this would work in practice.

"In the absence of any substantiated information, I find the suggested public benefit would therefore not outweigh the great weight to be given to the harm to the heritage asset."
