The iconic pub - named the Crooked House - in Dudley was engulfed in flames overnight.

It was once dubbed as 'Britain's wonkiest pub'.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue and West Midlands Fire Service were called to the property at around 10pm.

Six crews were in attendance.

A spokeswoman for Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service said: "Crews from Dudley, Brierley Hill, Tipton, Kinver, Chase Terrace and Cannock were at the scene."

Investigations are now underway into what caused the fire.

No one has been reported as injured or believed to be in the building at the time of the blaze.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue are asking for anyone with information to come forward as enquiries are ongoing.

Many locals in the community have taken to social media over the blaze.

The Crooked House is a Grade II listed building and has recently been in headlines over it's closure due to damage from a break-in.

A petition was started to save it and keep it as a pub - currently the petition has over 3,000 signatures.

The Himley Road at Gornal Wood remains closed as motorists are asked to avoid the area.

The junction with Arcal Road remains closed.
