A man has died after a being attacked by a dog in Derby on Saturday 22 April.

Police confirmed the death of the man on Sunday on Cameron Road.

Officers were called to reports that a man had been seriously injured at a house in Derby on Saturday morning.

The dog was destroyed by police at the address as it was deemed a risk to them and the public. The breed of the dog remains unknow.

Roads were closed on Saturday whilst police were dealing with the incident.

A man has arrested in connection with the incident and remains in police custody.

There will be an increased police presence in the area and a scene remains in place at a house in Cameron Road.

Police enquiries are continuing and officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have information.
