A body's believed to have been recovered from the beach at Scarborough by North Yorkshire Police this morning (Saturday 1st April).

Officers were seen using their vans as a makeshift cordon at first light on the sands next to the RNLI lifeboat station at South Bay.

Forensic teams also attended later and were there for about an hour, with a private ambulance also on site a little later.

The area had returned to normal and North Yorkshire Police are yet to confirm any details of exactly what's happened.
