Warrington Cancer Sufferer's Plea

A mother of two from Warrington who suffers from breast cancer has criticised a decision by a pharmaceutical company to make the drug Kadcyla unavailable on the NHS due to the cost.

Melanie O’Neill says if it wasn’t for the drug she’d more than likely have succumbed to the disease over a year ago.

The drug is due to be removed from the Cancer Drugs Fund next week by the health watchdog – a move which Melanie says could end up proving fatal to many patients.
