Trafford Council Leader in race for GM Mayor
Sean Anstee puts himself forward for Conservative candidate for Greater Manchester Mayor.
The leader of Trafford Council Sean Anstee has put his name in the hat to run as Greater Manchester’s Conservative mayoral candidate.
Speaking at the Tory Party Conference in Birmingham the 29-year-old - who is the region's youngest Council leader - confirmed he will stand after months of speculation.
No other Tory candidates have come forward for the position yet.
If he's selected to represent the party in the election next year he'll be up against Andy Burnham for Labour and Jane Brophy of the Lib Dems.
