Motorcyclist dies in crash
Police investigate collision between Motorbike and taxi in Gorton.
A man has died following a collision in Gorton. Around 8.40pm on Thursday 15 September 2016 police were called to reports of a collision between a taxi and a motorcycle on Hyde Road, junction with Redgate Lane, Gorton. Emergency services attended and a man was taken to hospital with head injuries. He sadly died a short time later. Police Constable Philip Shaw of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a devastating incident with a man tragically losing his life. “I’m appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or seen the yellow motorcycle involved in the area at the time, to contact us as soon as possible. “Our thoughts are with his family at this extremely hard time.” Anyone with information should contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 0161 856 4741 or the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
