Emergency services were called to Radcliffe Road at 8.56pm on Monday after a black Honda Civic collided with a tree.

Despite the best efforts the first responders, the 16-year-old boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family has been informed and are being supported by officers.

Two other teenage boys were also hurt – one of whom is being treated for a serious leg injury.

It is not believed that any other vehicles were involved and an investigation into what happened is ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Paul Clark, of Nottinghamshire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation unit, said:

“This is a tragic incident that has resulted in the untimely death of teenage boy.

“As we work to understand what happened our thoughts today are with his family, his friends and all those who knew him.

“Although we do not currently believe any other cars were involved in what happened, we are appealing for any additional witnesses to come forward.

“We particularly want to hear from anyone with dashcam footage who saw the vehicle involved in this collision in the moments before the collision.”
