Manchester Airport's Managing Director apologises over power cut disruption

The Managing Director of Manchester Airport has apologised to passengers facing significant disruption caused by a major power cut.
It happened early this morning (Sunday 23rd June), causing damage to security and baggage equipment.
Power supplies were restored a short while later, but the knock on impacts have led to all flights from Terminals 1 and 2 being cancelled until 'further notice'.
Flights are running from Terminal 3, but most are facing delays - whilst others have been diverted to other airports.
Chris Woodroofe has spoken in a video released on social media.
The airport's MD has also said engineers are hoping to have repairs completed by this evening, with the hope of gradually returning services to normal.
Passengers who are due to travel from Terminals 1 and 2 are being told not to travel to the airport for now and to contact their airline.

"It's just dreadful but you've got to make the best of a bad situation.
"It's not the airline's fault, it's not Manchester Airport's fault - it's no one's fault.
"This is just one of those freaky things which happens."
