Man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after stabbing in Manchester

The attack happened at a house in the Moston area of the city

A man's been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two men were stabbed in Manchester.

Officers were called to an address in Moston Lane, Moston at 6:30am this morning (Saturday 29th July).

A 37 and a 41 year old man were rushed to hospital. Police say their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

The man who's been arrested - who's 38 - was also found at the address.

Detective Inspector Mike Russell of Greater Manchester Police's Manchester North District said: "This was a vicious attack, but I would like to reassure the community that our investigation is progressing at pace and we are working hard to piece together the full circumstances.

“It is being treated as a targeted attack and we are not currently looking for anyone else involved.

“I understand the concerns an incident of this nature will cause however we are treating it as an isolated incident. There will nevertheless be extra patrol plans in place to provide a visible and reassuring policing presence in the community. If you do have any concerns, I urge you to speak to the officers who will be on hand to assist.

"We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time of the incident and who may have information to share - including footage such as CCTV, mobile or dashcam - to make contact with police."
