An Australian man says he couldn't have wished for a more magical holiday - after getting stuck in Britain's highest pub in North Yorkshire.

Heavy snow means over 20 people have spent three days stranded at the Tan Hill Inn.

They've been making friends and taking part in a huge snowball fight in that time.

Paul Wright is visiting the UK for the first time with his family

He says;

"We were messing around as we got out of the car, and I picked up and made a snowball as I couldn't actually believe how light it was.

"I've never actually felt real snow, because in Australia it's manufactured, so it was amazing."

Work is set to continue this morning to try and free the stranded - with some snow drifts in the area six-foot high.

Nicole Hayes is General Manager of the Inn and says;

"We've had an 80s party, we've had a movie day, shared numbers, shared life stories.

"Hopefully we can get out, but if not we've got the fire and we've got the best company."
