Weezer and Panic! At The Disco are among the artists who have recorded new songs for the soundtrack to Disney’s Frozen 2.
Disney’s sequel to their 2013 blockbuster animated movie Frozen, which made more than £1billion at the global box office, will hit cinemas on 22nd November 2019.
The accompanying Frozen 2 soundtrack is released a week earlier on 15th November and features the newly recorded Panic! At the Disco track ‘Into The Unknown’ and the new Weezer song ‘Lost in the Woods’.
‘Into The Unknown’ is originally performed by Idina Menzel (who plays Queen Elsa) and Aurora in the film, and is reprised by Brendon Urie for the end credits.
Both Weezer and Panic! At The Disco took to social media to confirm their songs appear at the end of the movie:
P!ATD wrote: “Channeling Elsa for “Into the Unknown,” out on the @DisneyFrozen soundtrack on 11/15! ❄️✨ Make sure y'all listen for it when the end credits start when #Frozen2 is out on 11/22 😉”
Weezer said: “Bringing the magic to the @DisneyFrozen soundtrack with “Lost in the Woods,” out on November 15th! Hear it during the end credits when #Frozen2 is in theaters starting November 22nd.”
Also appearing in the end credits is a new song by country musician Kacey Musgraves called ‘All Is Found’.
The movie itself features seven new songs composed by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, with Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell (aka Princess Anna) and Evan Rachel Wood (who plays new character Queen Iduna) among the performers.
Weezer grace the UK next summer for a trio of stadium shows on The Hella Mega Tour with Green Day and Fall Out Boy. All tickets are completely and utterly sold out.
