Wayne Static RIP: Rock World Pays Tribute

The Static-X founder died aged just 48 on Saturday

Stars from across the rock world have been paying tribute to Wayne Static who died on Saturday (1st November) aged 48.

News of the Static-X founder’s death – just three days short of his 49th birthday - emerged over the weekend when his publicist posted a statement on Wayne’s Facebook page.

It read: “November 1, 2014 – Platinum selling musician Wayne Richard Wells, better known as WAYNE STATIC, passed away at the age of 48. WAYNE STATIC was the enigmatic former frontman and namesake of Static-X, who later forged a successful solo career. Wayne was scheduled to co-headline tours with Powerman 5000 and Drowning Pool over the next several months. No additional information is available at this time.”

The singer, real name Wayne Richard Wells, was due to kick-start 2015 touring with Powerman 5000 and Drowning Pool.
