Norman Reedus, best known for playing Daryl Dixon in The Walking Dead, joined thrash heroes Anthrax on stage in Atlanta last night (5th October).

The actor took to the Tabernacle stage during thunderous set closer Indians and played bass alongside Frank Bello before throwing his hat into the crowd.

It was Anthrax’s latest pit stop on their North American tour with headliners and kindred spirits Slayer.

Anthrax said: “Atlanta is where we fight ‘em till we can't fight no more with a special guest Norman Reedus – The Walking Dead with the Walking Dudes.”

It’s not the first time Anthrax and The Walking Dead’s worlds have collided.

Guitarist Scott Ian was cast as a zombie in the sixth season of the hit show. He met his gruesome end at the hands of Carl Grimes when he spiked a metal pole through his skull.

A true metalhead, back in March Norman Reedus and Mastodon's Brent Hinds both got tattoos in tribute to Motörhead legend Lemmy Killmister.

The two good friends hit the Abracadabra Tattoo shop in New Orleans where Norman had Lemmy’s name tattooed onto his body, while Brent opted for the Ace of Spades symbol with Lemmy’s initial in the centre.
