WATCH: Slipknot premiere fan-filmed ‘Before I Forget’ video
Not a phone-slapping incident in sight
Despite Corey Taylor notoriously being averse to fans fiddling with their phones at gigs, back in August 2015 Slipknot asked their beloved Maggots to film their performance of ‘Before I Forget’ at their Red Rocks show in Morrison, Colorado.
17 arduous months in the making, the video has finally seen the light of day today with the band premiering it on their official YouTube channel.
Greatly varying in quality, somehow the video manages to perfectly capture the raw visceral energy of the Slipknot live show. Watch it right here:
Back in November, Corey Taylor broke the news that a new Slipknot record is at least two years away.
After Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan revealed that he and Jim Root were planning to start writing for the follow-up to ‘5: The Gray Chapter’ in February, Corey was asked on Twitter whether the album will see the light of day soon.
He responded: “Not really. That just means they’re gonna start writing music. We won’t go in the studio for two years.”
Corey’s other band Stone Sour, however, are a lot further down the line with at least 18 songs already demoed for their sixth release.
