Ahead of their epic headline performance on The Avalanche Stage hosted by Kerrang! Radio, Neck Deep’s Ben Barlow and Matt West spoke to Jack Wood backstage.
After talking about going head-to-head with Guns N’ Roses, revealing their favourite computer game and what band they’d like to have a meal with their parents, Jack asked Ben and Matt what one band they’d want to be trapped on a desert island with.
Ruminating on whether Parkway Drive would be a good choice, Matt said: “Their current trend at the minute is just setting fire to everything so I don’t really know if that would be that much use. Literally (set fire to the stage). It’s so insane.
“We’ve paid for some pyro and stuff for today. Pointless. We shouldn’t have bothered. It’s going to look like a really bad £5 box of fireworks rom Asda compared to what they’ve got.”
Asked if there’s any new music on the horizon for Neck Deep, Ben said that unfortunately fans will have to wait a while.

“The aim as far as going forward from here is to really be able to take our time a bit,” he explained. “We’ve been cracking albums out left right and centre, we’ve been a band for six years and we’ve got three full length records, two Eps.”
Matt adds: “But it’s not just records, it’s three full length records and two years of solid non-stop touring.”
Joking that their family don’t recognise them any more, Matt said: “My mum’s supposed to be here and I don’t know who she is.”
Ben adds “I came back (from touring) and my house had completely changed and I had a dog. So there you go. My girlfriend got a dog whilst I was on tour.”
