WATCH: Green Day fan performs on stage with them and absolutely kills it

He blitzes through 'When I Come Around'

Green Day have a long history of fan participation at live shows, but in Chicago on Sunday night a fan took it to the next level.

The trio were 20 songs into their epic set at the Aragon Ballroom when Billie Joe hauled an audience member on stage after spotting him holding a placard reading ‘I know all of Dookie on guitar.’

Billie Joe handed Thomas Bulvan his beloved guitar and he proceeded to prowl and jump around the stage like a pro while perfectly playing every note of ‘When I Come Around’.

After a loving embrace with Billie Joe, Thomas ended his performance by triumphantly diving into the 5,000 capacity crowd. Nice.

Taking to Instagram afterwards, Thomas wrote: “Tonight I got to see my all time favourite band for the second time. They played an amazing set with a bunch of my favourites. I balled my eyes out during Christie Road and Still Breathing.

“But the best part was the fact that my hero Billie Joe Armstrong noticed my tiny little sign that said "I know all of Dookie on guitar" and he asked me do you really know all of them and I said yes! And so he said get up on stage.

“I got to hug that tiny man and he handed me his first guitar he ever owned since he was little, named "blue" and asked me if I could play when I come around and I said yes again.

“From then on it was history, I’m sure you all saw the videos, I lived my dream, I got to play with the band that means absolutely everything to me!! I don’t think anything will ever beat that moment and I’m still in disbelief!”
