Tucked away at the back of the stage with the rest of the band selfishly hogging the limelight and audience’s affections, drummers often struggle to get the attention they crave at live shows.
Of course, some drummers go to great lengths to stand out – Tommy Lee had his gloriously OTT drum kit rollercoaster with Mötley Crüe, Joey Jordison had a rotating drum kit in his Slipknot days and Lars Ulrich pulls a mind-boggling variety of gurn faces.
However, all these tricks pale into insignificance when you see the serious skills of drummer Aric Improta.
As the YouTube video below shows, Aric opens by playing a very solid drum solo before effortlessly back flipping to another drum kit and effortlessly keeps his timing. Seriously impressive!
