Foo Fighters lynchpin Dave Grohl provided one of the most memorable moments at The Oscars in California last night.
The rock titan performed a poignant acoustic version of The Beatles classic ‘Blackbird’ for the ceremony’s In Memoriam segment.
As Dave sang the ‘White Album’ track, photos and clips of late movie stars including Alan Rickman, David Bowie, Christopher Lee, Robert Loggia, Maureen O’Hara and Leonard Nimoy flashed on the backdrop.

At the Oscars ceremony Spotlight took home the coveted Best Picture prize, while Leonardo DiCaprio was crowned Best Actor for The Revenant and Brie Larson Best Actress for Room.
