Arctic Monkeys paid homage to the late-great Lou Reed by performing his classic hit ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ in Liverpool last night (28th October).

Returning to the stage for their encore at the sold-out Echo Arena show, Alex Turner counted down “1,2,3,4” before launching into rendition of the 1972 anthem.

Accompanied by former Coral member Bill Ryder-Jones, the mainly acoustic interpretation sparked a massive sing-along with the 12,000 strong crowd.

Lou Reed’s untimely death on Sunday from a liver-related ailment sparked an outpouring of tributes from the music world.
