What made it especially poignant is the diversity of the choir - races, ages, genders, styles... No celebrities, just "ordinary" folks from all walks of life singing their hearts out.”
Another wrote: “So beautiful and emotive. A couple of tears just run out of my eyes ... Wherever you are, I really hope you're resting in peace, dear Chris. Thank you for so much.”
Hours after performing with Soundgarden at the Fox Theatre in Detroit last Wednesday night (17th May), Chris Cornell’s body was found in the bathroom of his room at the MGM Grand Detroit hotel.
Wayne County Medical Examiner's Office later issued a statement saying it was “suicide by hanging”, however his wife Vicky later questioned whether it was intentional and if anti-anxiety drugs “contributed to his demise.”
Vicky also paid tribute to her 'soulmate' in an open letter that was published on the one-week anniversary of Chris's death.
Chris’s funeral is taking place in Hollywood, Los Angeles today (26th May).
