Vote for the greatest pop punk song ever
We're playing the countdown out over the first May bank holiday
Last updated 24th Apr 2023
Ah pop punk! The soundtrack to a hundred 00s movies, and those heady days at school in the UK drizzle imagining we were actually at school in the US sunshine.
Some dismissively called it a fad, but pop punk has stayed the course. From its first explosion in the mid 90s with the likes of Green Day and The Offspring, through to the mainstream glory of the 2000s where you couldn't move for blink-182, Bowling For Soup, Fall Out Boy and Avril Lavigne tunes.
Since the 00s, bands like Neck Deep and State Champs have reinvigorated the genre, with the modern-day scene looking stronger than ever, as new groups like Meet Me @ The Altar sit alongside the rejuvenated (and in some cases reunited) old guard like blink and Paramore.
With festivals like When We Were Young and Slam Dunk putting pop punk acts front and centre, there's never been a better time to ask this vital question...
What's the best pop punk song ever?
All you need to do is tell us your suggestions for the greatest pop punk song of all time, and we'll collect all your answers and reveal the winner.
It'll all go down on bank holiday Monday 1st May 2023, when we'll be soundtracking your long weekend in style!
