The Vaccines’ frontman Justin Young has heaped huge praise on One Direction after joining forces with them on new material.

!The singer has been working with Harry Styles and Niall Horan in the studio and, seemingly enriched by the experience, claims the duo are effortless songwriters.

He enthused to MTV: "They are both natural writers. I love writing songs and love pop music, so the process was exciting. I don't think they are going for a heavier, indie sound.

“Maybe it's damaged my credibility, but it wasn't The Vaccines who wrote for them, it was me, so I doubt it's damaged the band's."

When news first broke that Justin was working with the multi-million selling pop act back in March, the vocalist hit out at critics calling them “small minded.”

"People who don't understand why I would want to work with One Direction are old-fashioned and small-minded and tribal," Justin told The NME.

"Someone asked me if we were selling out and I thought, how have I gone back on my word? At no point have we professed to be indie."

It’s expected that the tracks Justin has been working on will appear on One Direction’s third studio album.
