Update: Slipknot's Corey Taylor may not have bust a ball while singing
Balls
In an astonishing turn of events that is sending shockwaves through the metal community, it seems that Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor has not totally banjaxed his bollock, as previously reported.
Corey tweeted his 579,000 followers that he “blew out” his left testicle while singing too high to fly during rehearsals for Slipknot’s upcoming European tour, which kicks off at Rockfest in Hyvinkaa, Finland.
It looked like his hairy egg had received the kiss of death.
As an upstanding rock and metal outlet, we duly reported the seemingly catastrophic injury to his clods.
However, it seems that in heaven sent news -and contrary to the combined medical knowledge of Kerrang! Radio's highly qualified writers- Corey has not, in fact, nobbled his nuts.
Here's Corey's original tweet, where he sensibly and entirely straight-faced, suggests that through the sheer power of 80s glam metal he manage to explode his left egg:
Known as "Testicular Dokkenitus" by medical professionals the world over, amongst rock and metal singers it is simply referred to as 'The Hunter'.
Following the publication of our brave and uncompromising journalistic piece, however, Corey took to Twitter to respond to us.
What he revealed seems to undermine all current medical knowledge. Having 100% burst his ball into a million wrinkly pieces whilst singing Dokken (undoubtedly '87's 'Dream Warriors'), Corey seems to have miraculously recovered.
We were, understandably, flabbergasted to hear that the gonad in question may have somehow regenerated (???), as Corey replied 'GUYS COME ON JESUS F***IN...'
Pulling no punches, noted journalist Griffin asked the metal legend 'How are the testicles crying laughing emoji'
To which our brave hero replied 'Newsworthy rock horns, crying laughing, sly face emojis'
For the moment, no one on either side of the Atlantic seems to have any answers as to how, having definitely totaled his testes for real, Corey has seemingly regenerated a new one in the space of 24hrs.
The Kerrang! Radio news desk awaits further developments with baited breath...
Hopefully we'll have some answers in time for Slipknot’s headline appearance at Download Festival on Saturday 15th June. fingers crossed emoji
