blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has updated fans on his health after being hospitalised with ‘life-threatening pancreatitis’ last week.
The pop-punk icon was rushed to West Hills hospital in Los Angeles on Tuesday 28th June before being taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center as his condition worsened.
Shortly before the hospitalisation, Barker tweeted ‘God save me’ and his teenage daughter Alabama wrote ‘Please say a prayer’ in an Instagram story alongside a photo of herself holding hands with her dad on his hospital stretcher.
Barker took to Twitter over the weekend to give fans an update on his condition and confirm that fortunately he’s doing much better.
“I went in for an endoscopy Monday feeling great but after dinner, I developed excruciating pain and have been hospitalized ever since,” Barker wrote.
“During the endoscopy, I had a very small polyp removed right in a very sensitive area, usually handled by specialists, which unfortunately damaged a critical pancreatic drainage tube. This resulted in severe life-threatening pancreatitis.
“I am so very very grateful that with intensive treatment I am currently much better.”
Everyone at Kerrang! Radio wishes Travis Barker a full and speedy recovery.
