Tom DeLonge announces new ‘solo’ album following Blink-182 exit
It collated odds, ends and demos
Former Blink-182 guitarist and co-vocalist Tom DeLonge has announced details of a solo album.
Titled ‘To The Stars – Demos, Odds and Ends’, the album will collate “personal recordings” of Blink-182 demos “and a few extra tracks.”
Tom made the announcement on Sunday via his official website - tomdelonge.me - where you can see a teaser for the album right now.
Three tracks will be unleashed every two weeks in the run-up to the album’s release – the first next Monday (9th March), the second on 23rd March and the final one on 6th April.
The album will then land on 20th April via Tom’s website.
Back in January, Blink-182 shocked their legions of fans when they released a statement confirming Tom had left the band and is being replaced by Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba for their upcoming commitments.
Befuddling fans, Tom then posted a statement on Instagram saying he “never quit the band” and slammed the “weird press releases” circulating.
However, in a vitriolic response the following day, Travis Barker and Mark Hoppus sat down with Rolling Stone magazine where they reiterated that Tom had definitely exited and hit out at their former band mate calling him “disrespectful, disingenuous & ungrateful.” Ouch.
This led to a heartfelt post from Tom where he voiced his disappointment and sadness at the whole sorry affair.
