The Prodigy share snippet of new music from the studio – listen

The Prodigy have shared a tantalising 15-second snippet of gloriously heavy new music from the recording studio.

The Braintree dance-rock legends took to social media this morning (18th May) and wrote: “New Prodigy studio session beats are rollin #theprodigy #keepitraw #weliveforthebeats.”

Accompanying the post is a 15-second video containing typically filthy and pulverising Prodigy beats emanating from a speaker before the camera pans to two Hama Beads incarnations of Maxim and Liam Howlett.

The Prodigy share new music from the studio:

Back in August 2019, Liam Howlett first confirmed The Prodigy were laying down new songs in the wake of Keith Flint’s death. He wrote at the time: “Back in the studio making noise... brand new Prodigy tunes are gonna roll.”

Last September, The Prodigy posted another update once again confirming they are working on new material. Sharing a photo of an Action Man wearing a helmet and clutching a pill, The Prodigy wrote: “Studio bizniz this month, back on the beats.”

The Prodigy’s seventh studio album ‘No Tourists’ was released in November 2018 just five months prior to Keith Flint’s passing.

In February of this year, The Prodigy revealed that a documentary film about their career is in the works.

Directed by Paul Dugdale, who previously worked with The Prodigy on their 2011 live film World’s on Fire and directed the videos for ‘Take Me To The Hospital’, ‘Omen’ and ‘Invaders Must Die’, the as-yet-untitled documentary is being produced by Pulse Films alongside Liam Howlett and Maxim.

Dugdale has previously worked on acclaimed live films and documentaries including The Rolling Stones’ Havana Moon, Coldplay: Ghost Stories, Jeff Lynne's ELO: Wembley or Bust and Paul McCartney Live at... The Cavern Club.

The director said: “The film will be as wild as the band. Dark at times, strong changes of pace, it will be a visual assault too, stylistically striking, contemporary and challenging. We want the viewers to leave the cinema like they’ve just stepped off a rollercoaster.”
