The Prodigy thank fans for tributes to Keith Flint
Liam Howlett says they have "really touched us and kept us going"
The Prodigy’s Liam Howlett has thanked fans for their outpouring of tributes to Keith Flint over the past week.
Howlett took to Instagram on Sunday to post a photo of graffiti by artist Ellwood-Leo in London’s Brick Lane in homage to the late-great Keith.
The graffiti features the vocalist’s face amidst the words “I got the Poison” from The Prodigy’s 1994 ‘Music for the Jilted Generation’ classic track ‘Poison’.
Liam wrote: “Thank you people for all the tributes. They have really touched us and kept us going this week. This one is @ellwoodleo , brick lane London Town. Massive respect.”
Last Friday (8th March), Howlett posted a photo of himself with Keith in a bar along with the caption “Two brothers on a night out..”
Keith was found dead at his home in Essex last Monday (4th March) and Liam later revealed that his band mate of three decades took his own life.
Three Prodigy albums re-entered the Official Album Chart last week in the wake of Keith’s death – ‘Their Law – The Singles 1990 to 2015’ charted at number 13, 1997’s ‘The Fat of the Land’ re-entered at no.26 and ‘No Tourists’ was at no.35.
Meanwhile, the first Prodigy single to feature Keith on vocals, ‘Firestarter’, charted at no.5 on the Dance Singles Chart.
The Prodigy last week cancelled all their upcoming tour dates including their headline slot at South West Four at London’s Clapham Common on the August Bank Holiday weekend.
