The Prodigy announce 'wild and uncompromising' documentary film

The Prodigy have announced that a feature-length documentary film about the Essex rave-rockers’ legendary career so far is in the works.
Directed by Paul Dugdale, who previously worked with The Prodigy on their 2011 live film World’s on Fire and directed the videos for ‘Take Me To The Hospital’, ‘Omen’ and ‘Invaders Must Die’, the as-yet-untitled documentary is being produced by Pulse Films alongside Liam Howlett and Maxim.
Paul Dugdale has previously worked on acclaimed live films and documentaries including The Rolling Stones’ Havana Moon, Coldplay: Ghost Stories, Jeff Lynne's ELO: Wembley or Bust and Paul McCartney Live at... The Cavern Club.
The director says: “The film will be as wild as the band. Dark at times, strong changes of pace, it will be a visual assault too, stylistically striking, contemporary and challenging. We want the viewers to leave the cinema like they’ve just stepped off a rollercoaster.”
Production is set to start in the spring, however a tentative release date is yet to be confirmed. It’s the first major project The Prodigy have announced since Keith Flint’s death in March 2019.
Liam Howlett and Maxim said in a joint statement: "After the devastating passing of our brother Keef in 2019, the time feels right for us to tell the story of our band, all of it, the whole 9.
“It's a story of the chaotic and troubled journey of our gang, our band, the people’s band - The Prodigy. Or simply - a story of brothers on a mission to make noise… to ignite the people’s souls and blow-up sound systems worldwide!
“This film will be made with the same integrity that our music is - uncompromising, raw and honest… This one’s for Keef!”

The Prodigy formed in Braintree, Essex 30 years ago and following the release of their seminal debut album ‘Experience’, the band have gone on to score six consecutive number one albums in the UK including 1997’s ‘The Fat of the Land’, which also hit the top spot Stateside.
Blurring the boundaries between rock and dance music, they’ve sold more than 20 million records worldwide and they’re truly one of the greatest spectacles in the live arena.
