The Ghost Inside have confirmed there is a future for the band after they joined forces to practise together last month.
The LA metalcore heroes surprised fans on 16th April when they announced a Facebook Live Q&A and their first jam session in two-and-a-half years.
“Last night, together, we finally pushed play,” they wrote the following day. “No crazy secret announcements, just the first step of a journey that we hope you will continue to share with us.”
The band were involved in a fatal crash on 19th November 2015 when their tour bus collided head on with a tractor trailer eight miles east of El Paso, Texas.
Both drivers died while the 10 passengers on board were all inured. The Ghost Inside’s Jonathan Vigil, Zach Johnson and Andrew Tkaczyk were all left in a critical condition and Tkaczyk later had his right leg amputated following a 10-day coma.
Taking to Facebook last night (30th April), The Ghost Inside confirmed that they plan on having a future together explaining that although they “don’t operate on autopilot anymore” there “was something special, something beautiful, in doing the thing we love by sheer force of will.”
Admitting that it’s still early days, the band told fans that they’re unsure what their future looks like, writing: “It might be one show, it might be a few shows. It could be a new song or a whole new record.”
The whole poignant post reads:
“This is The Ghost Inside 2018. We weren’t always sure we would make it here. All along we’ve said ‘let’s just get in a room with instruments and see what happens’. Andrew gave us 4 clicks and we sailed off into Between the Lines. Over the next few hours we hacked our way through a dozen or so songs, one at a time. Everything is different. Fingers and feet and throats that have played these songs a thousand times don’t operate on autopilot anymore. But there was something special, something beautiful, in doing the thing we love by sheer force of will. Spending a week together as bandmates answered the question that has been on all of our minds - yes there is a future for TGI. We still aren’t sure exactly what it looks like. It might be one show, it might be a few shows. It could be a new song or a whole new record. Our journey into that future is just beginning, and we will bring everyone that is interested along with us. Every Monday, one band member will take over all of our social media to give you insight and updates on their personal progress, as well as glimpses behind the scenes of what we are doing as The Ghost Inside as this new chapter unfolds. We know that this is a new normal but hey, the same old thing gets boring right? Thanks for proving that you are the Tried and True.”
The Ghost Inside were previously confirmed to perform at The Warped Tour in 2017 but cancelled to allow them time to recover from their injuries.
