Terminated Scott Weiland Slams Stone Temple Pilots

He found out about his firing through the press

Scott Weiland has released a statement criticising his former Stone Temple Pilots band mates after they announced his ‘termination’ on Wednesday (27th February).

After 21 years with the band, Weiland apparently only found out he had been ousted from the group when their publicist issued this brief statement: “Stone Temple Pilots have announced they have officially terminated Scott Weiland.”

Flabbergasted that he hadn’t been told the bad news face-to-face, Weiland took to Facebook last night to confirm he’d be consulting his lawyers.

He wrote: “I learned of my supposed “termination” from Stone Temple Pilots this morning by reading about it in the press.

“Not sure how I can be “terminated” from a band that I founded, fronted and co-wrote many of its biggest hits, but that’s something for the lawyers to figure out. In the meantime, I’m looking forward to seeing all of my fans on my solo tour which starts this Friday.”

Last December in a radio interview Weiland’s former Velvet Revolver bandmate Slash hinted that the vocalist had been sacked from Stone Temple Pilots – a claim that Slash and Weiland later recanted.

Slash made the comments in response to Weiland’s false claims that he had rejoined Velvet Revolver. Complicated, huh?!
