For months now, Stone Sour lynchpin Corey Taylor has been extolling the virtues of the band’s upcoming new album ‘Hydrograd’ saying it might be the best music he’s ever released.

If newly unleashed lead single ‘Fabuless’ is anything to go by, he may well have a point.

From the opening pounding drums, the scintillating track is an adrenaline-fuelled rock behemoth packed with crushing riffs, searing melodies and plenty of expletive strewn angst.

They even take the time to give both Led Zeppelin and The Rolling Stones a nod with the lyrics: “It's been a long time since I rock and rolled / It's only rock 'n' roll but I like it.”

Better still, it’s accompanied by an inspired video that sees that band perform in front of a theatre of Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm-Flailing Tubemen.

Poking fun at Corey Taylor’s infamous phone-slapping incident, towards the end of the video a tubeman (who has now switched to role of lead vocalist) hilariously knocks Corey Taylor’s phone out of his hands in the crowd.

Watch the video below (Warning: it's very sweary):

‘Hydrograd’, the band’s first album since 2013’s House of Gold and Bones Pt 2, is set for release on Friday 30th June via long-time imprint, Roadrunner Records

You can hear Corey chatting to our very own Loz Guest on Kerrang! Radio next week about the making of the album.

According to a press release accompanying today’s announcement, UK tour dates are also in the pipeline very soon! Nice.
