Billy Corgan has taken to Instagram to confirm that The Smashing Pumpkins have finished recording two new EPs.

The band, which currently consists of Billy alongside Jeff Schroeder and original members James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlain, have laid down eight tracks for the ‘Shiny And Oh So Bright’ EPs 1 + 2 and work is complete aside from mixing and mastering.

Taking to Instagram last night, Billy wrote: “Recording is now finished for the upcoming Shiny And Oh So Bright EPs 1 + 2, which ended last night with a truly epic sing on Knights of Malta with 3 unbelievably talented women.

“Probably one of my favourite experiences ever recording with Smashing Pumpkins, right up there with the strings on Tonight. So yes, it’s all save for the mixing and mastering. Thank you to everyone who has been so sweet and supportive. We hope to make you proud.”

In a separate post last week, Billy confirmed that the track names are Solara, Marchin' On, Travels, Seek and You Shall Destroy, With Sympathy, Knights of Malta, Silvery Sometimes (Ghosts), and Alienation. He didn’t reveal which respective EP they will appear on.

He explained: “The intended plan being to release the songs over two, four song E.P.'s, with a first song most likely due out in May.”

The reunion of three-quarters of the classic Smashing Pumpkins line-up last month sparked former bassist D’arcy Wretzky to launch a scathing diatribe against Billy Corgan.
