Maggots across the globe were left flabbergasted last month when Slipknot announced that Joey Jordison is no longer a part of the collective due to “personal reasons.”
In a New Year message on Facebook, Joey gave the first hint that the parting of company may have been acrimonious.
Insisting he “DID NOT QUIT” and would “never abandon” his fans, Joey wrote: “This band has been my life for the last 18 years, and I would never abandon it, or my fans. This news has shocked and blindsided me as much as it has all of you.”
Slipknot’s fifth album will also be their first without bassist Paul Gray who died in May 2010.
