Two chances to meet the band
Last updated 2nd Jun 2021
Maggots are being given the rare chance to meet members of Slipknot at two different UK locations this week while the band are storming the country on their sold-out arena tour.
First up, and fearsome Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson is taking part in an in-store fan meet & greet in Birmingham on Thursday 23rd January. The event takes place 2020 at 6pm at guitarguitar on Hagley Road in Birmingham.
As well as chatting and posing for pictures with fans, Mick will be signing items and Maggots are being encouraged to bring along records, merchandise and anything else they want signed.
There are no tickets for the meet & greet, however you’re are advised to get to guitarguitar early as gargantuan queues around the block are expected.
The meet & greet takes place a day before Slipknot play Birmingham Arena on the penultimate date of their blistering tour in support of their sixth studio album ‘We Are Not Your Kind’.
guitarguitar says in a statement on their official website: “On the 23rd of January at 6:00PM, we're over the moon to announce that Slipknot guitarist Mick Thomson is joining us at guitarguitar Birmingham for an in-store Meet & Greet/Signing!
“We couldn't be more hyped to give you guys the chance to meet such a legendary player, so if you see us wearing sinister masks, jumpsuits, or simply running excited laps of the shop over the next week or so, we're just trying to get it all out of our systems before he shows up.
“We'll be handing out flyers for you to get signed but please bring along any records, merch or gear you want penned - you don't get chances like this every day! There's no need to book tickets; however, we're expecting a huge turnout, so make sure you get down early and get queued up outside... We'll see you Maggots there!”
Following the Mick Thomson meet & greet, and coinciding with their sold-out show at The O2 in London, Slipknot will launch a pop-up whiskey store at The Provender Building in Camden Market.
Open from midday to 6pm on Saturday 25th January and 12pm to 5pm on Sunday 26th January, a limited stock of the masked metallers’ No.9 Iowa Whiskey will be for sale from the pop-up shop. It will also stock exclusive band merchandise and 12 x 12 print vinyl bundles.
Better still, from midday to 3pm on the Saturday, members of the band will be present in the store to sign your bottles of whiskey! Get there early!
Slipknot kicked off their UK and Ireland tour at Dublin’s 3Arena on Tuesday 14th January where they played their ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ tracks ‘Nero Forte’ and ‘Birth of the Cruel’ live for the very first time.
Slipknot return to the UK this summer when they bring Knotfest to The National Bowl in Milton Keynes on Saturday 22nd August 2020.
Tickets are on sale from Kerrang! Radio Tickets now.

Here is Wes Borland without his mask and makeup at a photoshoot in 2017.
