Epic news to kick-start your week - Slipknot have been unveiled as the first colossal headliners of Download Festival 2015!

Fresh from touring the globe with their Prepare for Hell Tour, the masked metallers will bring their insane production to the Main Stage on Friday 12th June.

And that’s not all. Also playing the Main Stage on Friday are Birmingham heavy metal legends Judas Priest, who released their critically lauded tour-de-force ‘Redeemer of Souls’ this summer, and the mighty Five Finger Death Punch.

Completing the first wave of artists on the Friday are Black Stone Cherry who have the prestigious honour of topping the second stage bill.

Slipknot’s show will mark their fifth appearance at Download Festival and third headline slot following their fabled performance in 2009 and equally momentous set four years later.

With tracks from their deliciously brutal fifth album ‘.5: The Gray Chapter’ in their arsenal alongside all the classics, it promises to be very special indeed!

The thirteenth Download Festival takes place in the hallowed grounds of Donington Park from Friday 12th to Sunday 14th June 2015.

Stay tuned for more big name artist announcements in the coming days!
